We are looking for a Project Officer to advance sustainable building materials and develop innovative fire-resistant coatings for structural applications. The role will focus on enhancing the durability, environmental sustainability, and fire performance of construction materials, addressing key challenges in the built environment. The research contributes to improving material safety, reducing carbon footprints, and fostering innovation aligned with the university's mission to support resilient and sustainable infrastructure development. Key Responsibilities: Conduct research and in-depth analyses to develop advanced blast-loading protocols and innovative computational frameworks for structural break-out debris simulations. Design, test, and optimise experimental setups and numerical models to enhance the predictability, safety, and physical accuracy of blast-induced fragmentation. Develop and implement cutting-edge methods to improve the fidelity of structural damage assessments and debris trajectory predictions in blast scenarios. Ensure project compliance with high-impact safety standards and blast-loading regulations to support the development of blast-hardened, resilient infrastructure. Provide professional guidance on blast mitigation strategies and structural integrity assessment during the project planning phase. Job Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in Civil/Structural Engineering or related field Knowledge of material durability analysis and fire-resistance testing and modelling.
