Nanyang Technological University (NTU) is looking for a Research Associate under the project Transforming Health Behaviour Insights through AI Driven Segmentation Models. The advertised position will be based in the Wee Kim Wee School of Communication and Information (WKWSCI) and work under the supervision of Principal Investigator Prof Shirley S. Ho. Focusing on the social science components of the project, the Research Associate will work with the PI and research team to drive the operationalisation of a large-scale lifestyle and values survey aimed at a psychosocial segmentation of the population cohort across Singapore’s adult population. This research will identify attitudinal and socio-cultural variables that underpin trust, risk perception, and receptiveness to health messaging. The scope includes surveys on health behaviours, lifestyle practices, and psychological traits, forming the empirical basis for the AI-driven population segmentation models. The Research Associate is expected to support a range of research and administrative works within the project, from data collection, data analysis, to research presentation, manuscript preparation, and administrative tasks associated with the project and within the team. This job contributes to the overall mission and objectives of NTU by nurturing leaders through research, attracting the right talent that the University needs to sustain organizational growth, and retaining employees to perform and sustain a performance culture. Key Responsibilities: To engage in literature searches and manuscript preparation. To work with vendors to implement and oversee large-scale surveys (approx. 5,000 participants across Singapore). To conduct data cleaning, uploading, and management. To conduct statistical analysis of data. To coordinate with participants and stakeholders. To contribute to research publications, presentations, and progress reports. To engage in the dissemination of research findings with the support of and under the supervision of the Principal Investigator. To carry out administrative work and other research work associated with the project. Job Requirements: Master’s degree in communication, psychology, public health, behavioral sciences or a related social science discipline. Fundamentals of survey research and quantitative data analytical skills (e.g., SPSS, MPLUS, or R). Preference with be given to candidates who meet the following requirements: A team player in a project setting, also with ability to work independently. Experience in a multi-cultural team environment. Initiative and good interpersonal skills. Knowledge of quantitative methodology and (or) computational data analytics. Prior experience in communication, psychology, public health, or behavioural science research.
