APAC Lead, Legal & Compliance | Private Markets / Fintech | 5–10 Years’ Experience (CL-OC-37) About the opportunity A fast-growing global financial technology and private markets platform is seeking an APAC Lead, Legal & Compliance to support its operations across Singapore, Hong Kong, Japan, Australia and South Korea. This is a broad regional role covering regulatory compliance, commercial legal matters and governance within a highly international and entrepreneurial environment. The role You will work closely with regional business teams and global Legal and Compliance colleagues to ensure that APAC activities meet applicable regulatory requirements and internal standards. Key responsibilities Advise the business on regulatory and compliance requirements across APAC Manage regulatory change, licensing matters, inspections and regulatory interactions Develop and execute the regional compliance monitoring programme Oversee AML/KYC, conflicts, complaints, incidents and risk registers Review marketing materials and cross-border distribution activities Draft and negotiate commercial, technology, outsourcing and distribution agreements Support product development, corporate governance and regional legal matters Manage external counsel and third-party compliance providers Prepare compliance reports for senior management Deliver relevant legal and compliance training Requirements 5–10 years of legal and/or compliance experience within financial services Strong understanding of APAC financial services regulations Experience managing compliance monitoring programmes and regulatory matters Good commercial contract drafting and negotiation skills Exposure to private markets, alternatives, asset management or financial technology would be advantageous Legal qualification in an APAC jurisdiction would be beneficial but is not essential Commercial, pragmatic and comfortable operating across multiple jurisdictions Why this role This is an opportunity to take ownership of a regional Legal and Compliance function while working at the intersection of private markets, financial technology and institutional distribution.
