Senior Counsel, M&A | Investment Group | 10+ PQE CL-OC-33 About the opportunity A leading international investment group is looking to hire a Senior Counsel to be based in Singapore. This is a broad, hands-on role with strong exposure to M&A, investments, financing, disputes and strategic corporate advisory work across different jurisdictions. The role You will work closely with the legal team, Group Head and senior business stakeholders on strategic legal matters supporting the group’s global investment activities. This is a strong opportunity for a highly commercial M&A lawyer with strong executive presence, deep transactional experience and the ability to operate as a trusted advisor to senior leadership. The role would suit someone who enjoys complex, strategic work and is comfortable partnering closely with business leaders across different jurisdictions. Key responsibilities You will support the legal team on a broad range of M&A, investment and strategic matters, including: Supporting M&A, investments, joint ventures, financing and business development activities Advising on transaction structuring, legal risk, negotiation strategy and execution Drafting, reviewing and negotiating transaction documents and commercial agreements Supporting due diligence, deal management and post-transaction integration matters where required Advising on legal issues, business strategy, risk management and corporate priorities Advising on disputes, litigation and arbitration matters where required Supporting corporate governance, regulatory compliance and risk management initiatives Managing local and international external counsel where required Working closely with senior stakeholders across different business units and jurisdictions Requirements The ideal candidate should have: More than 10 years of post-qualification legal experience Strong international legal experience, ideally with exposure beyond a purely local market A strong combination of private practice and in-house legal experience Deep M&A, investment and transactional experience, ideally operating at Partner calibre Training or experience with a top-tier / Tier 1 law firm at some point in their career Strong corporate legal experience across M&A, joint ventures, investments, financing and commercial contracts Singapore Bar admission preferred, though not essential Corporate governance, risk management and disputes exposure would be advantageous Strong commercial judgement, maturity and executive presence Excellent communication, stakeholder management and influencing skills Humility, collaboration and a strong team-oriented mindset Ability to work independently in a fast-moving, complex and entrepreneurial environment Strong cultural alignment with a values-driven, high-performance organisation Why this role This is a rare opportunity to join a lean, high-calibre legal team where the legal function works closely with senior leadership on strategic and business-critical M&A and investment matters.
