Job Description The Institute for Functional Intelligent Materials is seeking to recruit a research fellow who will be responsible for the following: Simulation and experimental research into compressed moire systems Performing simulation Sample fabrication Atomic force microscopy (AFM) measurements Job Requirements PhD in Physics, Materials Science, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a closely related discipline Strong knowledge of condensed matter physics, two-dimensional (2D) materials, moiré superlattices, or computational materials science is an advantage Experience with numerical simulations and computational modelling using programming languages such as Python, MATLAB, or C/C++, and familiarity with scientific computing tools Experience operating and analysing data from AFM or other nanoscale characterization techniques Ability to analyse experimental and simulation data, troubleshoot technical issues, and interpret research findings Good scientific writing and communication skills, with the ability to prepare reports, publications, and presentations Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a multidisciplinary research environment Strong organisational skills, attention to detail, and commitment to maintaining laboratory safety and research integrity
