Sales Manager(Maritime SaaS) Location: Tokyo, Japan (Preferred) / Singapore Work Mode: Hybrid Overview We are looking for an experienced, commercially driven Sales Manager to spearhead our client's growth in the Japanese maritime market. This is a high-impact leadership role responsible for business development, strategic account management, customer success, and market expansion. The ideal candidate brings deep maritime industry knowledge, an established network across Japan's shipping community, and the ability to build lasting customer relationships while driving sustainable revenue growth. What Will You Do? Drive business growth by identifying, developing, and securing new opportunities within the Japanese maritime sector. Build and maintain strong relationships with ship owners, ship managers, operators, charterers, trading companies, and other maritime stakeholders. Own the complete sales cycle—from lead generation and prospecting to negotiations, contract closure, and account growth. Develop tailored commercial proposals and solution-based sales strategies aligned with customer requirements. Expand company's presence across major Japanese maritime hubs, including Tokyo and Osaka. Set, monitor, and achieve regional revenue targets while providing regular sales forecasts and market updates. Represent at maritime conferences, exhibitions, networking events, and industry forums. Stay informed on market trends, competitor activity, regulatory developments, and emerging customer needs. Collaborate closely with Business Development, Product, Customer Success, and Operations teams to deliver exceptional customer outcomes. Gather customer feedback to support product innovation and continuous service improvement. Support and mentor junior business development team members where required. The Must-Haves Bachelor's Degree in Business, Marketing, Maritime Studies, or a related discipline. 10+years of Business Development or Sales experience within the maritime services, shipping technology, or Maritime SaaS industry. Native Japanese (or business-level Japanese with extensive experience in the Japanese maritime market) and strong business-level English communication skills. Right to work in Japan or Singapore, with willingness to be based in Tokyo(preferred) or Singapore. Proven success in developing long-term commercial relationships with ship owners, operators, charterers, traders, and maritime organizations. Strong track record of achieving sales targets and closing complex B2B enterprise deals. Maritime SaaS sales experience is highly preferred. Candidates with successful Bunker Trading experience and a strong Japanese customer network are also encouraged to apply. Knowledge of Voyage Management, Vessel Performance, Port DA, Laytime, Bunker Procurement, Emissions Management, or related maritime software solutions will be a significant advantage. Excellent negotiation, presentation, stakeholder management, and relationship-building skills. Highly self-motivated, proactive, adaptable, and capable of working independently in a fast-paced environment. What's on Offer?
