Junior Network Engineer

Job Summary We are seeking a Junior Network Engineer with a background in Cisco technologies to design, maintain, and secure network infrastructure, troubleshoot issues, and collaborate across teams to support business operations and growth. Responsibilities Design, configure, and maintain network infrastructure to ensure high availability, optimal performance, and robust security Monitor and analyze network performance to identify vulnerabilities and implement improvements Troubleshoot and resolve network issues using monitoring and diagnostic tools Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate network systems with applications Plan and execute network maintenance, including software/hardware updates, patches, and security protocols Implement and enforce network security policies, including firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems, and VPNs Develop and update comprehensive network documentation and diagrams Participate in on-call rotation to provide network support outside regular business hours Required competencies and certifications Knowledge of Cisco routers, switches, firewalls, and other network devices Strong understanding of network protocols such as TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, and OSPF Familiarity with network security concepts including VPNs, firewalls, and IDS/IPS Experience using network monitoring and troubleshooting tools like Wireshark, SolarWinds, or Cisco Prime Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team Strong problem-solving and communication skills Willingness to learn new technologies and skills Preferred competencies and qualifications Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field Cisco certifications (considered a plus) Fresh graduate or 1+ years of experience as a Network Engineer
