About this role
We are seeking a proactive Network Engineer to join our dynamic team to support and maintain our extensive network infrastructure, including Overseas WAN, Corporate Internet, and Campus environments. The role involves a balance of Business as Usual (BAU) operational support and project-related tasks, with a strong focus on security compliance, documentation, and rigorous change management procedures within a banking environment. Key Responsibilities: Network Operations & Support: Responsible for supporting and maintaining overseas WAN, corporate access internet, and campus network designs. Data Center (DC) Support: Actively work with the team to support Data Center network tasks as part of BAU, with flexibility to contribute to project-related implementations. Change Management & Documentation: Develop comprehensive network change plans, maintain accurate network diagrams, update configurations, and ensure all procedures align with Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) guidelines. Testing & Validation: Perform User Acceptance Testing (UAT) and regression tests to validate network changes according to the nature of the task. Network Hygiene & Security Compliance: Support the team in maintaining high network security standards by fixing Vulnerability Assessments (VA) and Advanced Persistent Audits and Repairs (APARs), including OS patching and VA fixes for routers & switches. Bank Grade Implementation: Execute network change implementation activities during defined Bank "green zone" times, strictly adhering to maker/checker procedures to ensure accuracy and security. Requirements: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related STEM field. Preferably some years of hands-on experience as a Network Engineer in a large enterprise WAN or data center environment. Proficient in TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF, and IPSec. Hands-on experience with Cisco IOS XE, NX-OS, and Arista devices. Knowledge of network monitoring tools such as SolarWinds, Nagios, ELK suites, or similar. Proven ability to diagnose and resolve complex network issues efficiently. Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to convey technical information to non-technical stakeholders. Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment. Must be able to perform shift work and commit 1-year contract.
