Core Responsibilities • Lead design of permanent concrete tunnel linings. • Lead design of strutting and waling systems for earth retaining structures. • Lead design of TBM launch frames and cradles. • Provide analysis for bored tunnel linings, including construction sequence, impact assessment, and instrumentation monitoring. • Lead and mentor a team of Junior Engineers and modellers, reviewing their outputs before it is issued. • Liaise directly with clients, contractors, and government authorities on technical and design matters. • Direct the preparation of technical sketches and design packages issued to modellers. • Ensure all designs comply with applicable codes, standards, and NOMA's internal quality requirements. Requirements • Recognised degree in Civil Engineering. • At least 8 years of experience in structural engineering, with a strong tunnel/underground portfolio. • Demonstrated ability to lead design teams and manage client-facing technical relationships. Principal Structural/Geotechnical Tunnel Engineer Position: Principal Engineer Role Purpose Act as NOMA's senior technical authority for tunnel and underground structural engineering across multiple projects and offices. Set design direction, hold independent assurance and sign-off authority, mentor Senior and Junior Engineers, and contribute to strategic client relationships and business development. Core Responsibilities • Carryout all responsibilities of a Senior Engineer, exercised at a portfolio level across projects and offices. • Hold independent technical assurance and sign-off authority for tunnel lining, retaining structure, and TBM launch designs across NOMA's Singapore office. • Own strategic client relationships; represent NOMA in high-level technical negotiations, variation claims, and dispute resolution. • Mentor and develop Senior and Junior Engineers, contributing technical input to their performance appraisals and KPI reviews. • Champion the adoption of new design methodologies, while holding the team accountable for personally checking and verifying outputs. • Contribute to business development, including technical proposals, capability presentations, and client pursuit strategy. • Represent NOMA in industry forums, standards committees, or technical panels as required. Requirements • Recognised degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline; Chartered/professional engineer status preferred. • At least 12 years of experience in tunnel/underground structural engineering, with a demonstrated track record of technical leadership. • Proven experience mentoring senior technical staff and managing delivery across multiple projects or offices. • Strong track record in client relationship management and business development.
