About this role

As an Exercise trainer, you enhance the quality of life for seniors by helping them maintain or maximise their physical capabilities and enabling them to live a purposeful life. You will need to: Deliver group fitness classes tailored for senior adults, focusing on components such as cardiovascular endurance, muscular strength, balance, and flexibility, including use of HUR exercise machines. Adapt and modify exercises to accommodate various fitness levels, physical conditions, and individual needs, ensuring safety and effectiveness for all participants. Provide clear and encouraging instruction with proper form cues and safety precautions to prevent injuries. Build rapport with seniors and genuinely care about their progress and well-being. Handle basic administrative tasks on IT systems such as tracking class attendance and reporting any incidents or concerns to management. You should: Have at least 1-2 years of experience teaching group fitness classes, with a specific focus on or passion for working with the senior population. Demonstrate excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to connect with people of all ages and backgrounds. Be patient, empathetic, and adaptable, understanding the unique challenges and goals of senior clients. Be physically able to demonstrate exercises and lead an entire class session. Qualifications It would be great if you: Have a Certificate in Basic Exercise Science or equivalent qualifications. Are a creative and innovative instructor who can introduce new and fun activities to keep participants engaged. Have experience with a variety of senior-friendly class formats, such as Chair Yoga or Tai Chi.
