About the Role OPH Health is expanding its research and development capabilities and is looking for an AI Specialist tojoin our R&D team. This is an internal-facing R&D role focused on advancing the integration of artificial intelligence into OPH Health’s medical device and digital health product portfolio. You will contribute directly to our AI innovation agenda — researching, designing, and evaluating AI technologies that can be embedded into our products to improve healthcare outcomes. Working alongside data scientists, software engineers, and product architects, you will help shape the AI strategy, inform the product roadmap,and ensure our AI capabilities remain at the forefront of digital health innovation. Key Responsibilities AI Product Development & Integration • Contribute to the research, design, and development of AI-integrated medical device and digital health products, ensuring alignment with OPH Health’s R&D objectives and product roadmap. • Collaborate with software engineers and product architects to define AI system architecture and integration frameworks for new and existing products. • Support the end-to-end AI product development lifecycle — from concept and prototyping through to validation, iteration, and handover for deployment. • Document R&D processes, technical specifications, AI architecture decisions, and research findings to build a strong knowledge base for the team. • Assist in translating R&D outcomes and AI innovation milestones into structured product requirements and development plans. Emerging Technology & AI Innovation Research • Conduct ongoing research into the latest advancements in AI, machine learning, generative AI, and related technologies with relevance to healthcare and medical devices. • Assess and recommend emerging AI technologies, tools, and methodologies that can be incorporated into OPH Health’s product architecture and innovation pipeline. • Contribute to the development and continuous refinement of OPH Health’s AI innovation roadmap, identifying short- and long-term opportunities for AI-driven product advancement. • Perform technology benchmarking and competitive landscape analysis to ensure OPH Health’s AI capabilities remain innovative and market-relevant. • Prepare research reports,innovation briefs, and technology assessments to support strategic decision-making by the leadership and R&D team. AI Model Evaluation & Optimisation • Evaluate Large Language Models (LLMs) and AI technologies for healthcare applications. • Work with data scientists and software engineers to validate AI models before deployment. • Participate in AI model testing, prompt optimisation and workflow improvement. • Support AI product localisation and adaptation for different healthcare markets. • Analyse user interaction data to improve AI accuracy and healthcare outcomes. Requirements Essential • Degree in Computer Science,Artificial Intelligence, Biomedical Engineering, Health Informatics, or arelated field. • At least 3 years of experience in AI, data science, or digital technology, with an interest or background in healthcare applications. • Ability to work collaboratively in a research and development environment alongside technical and non-technical team members. • Strong analytical thinking and ability to synthesise research findings into clear, actionable recommendations. • Good written communication skills for documenting R&D work, preparing research reports, and contributing to product specifications. • A proactive, curious mindsetwith a genuine passion for AI innovation and digital health. Preferred • Experience in an R&D,product development, or innovation role within a technology or healthcare environment. • Familiarity with AI model evaluation, prompt engineering, or AI system testing and validation. • Exposure to medical device development, health informatics, or regulated healthcare product environments. • Knowledge of AI architecture design principles or experience contributing to a technology roadmap. • Experience working across multiple healthcare markets or with diverse regulatory and clinical requirements.
