HEAD OF LEGAL | PRIVATE-PUBLIC NON-PROFIT Our Client is a sizeable and reputable Organisation in the Private-Public Non-Profit Sector where their good work benefits and impacts the greater population across a range of culture demographics. As part of its succession planning in a rapidly changing digital landscape, the Organisation is seeking to appoint a seasoned legal and governance leader to head its Legal & Secretariat function. Leading a team of five (lawyers & corporate secretary), this is a senior leadership role overseeing the Organisation’s legal, governance, regulatory and corporate secretariat responsibilities across a broad and dynamic operating environment spanning content, digital, commercial partnerships, technology and corporate initiatives. The successful individual will act as a trusted advisor to senior management and the Board on matters relating to corporate governance, legal risk, regulatory compliance and strategic business initiatives. The role will provide oversight and counsel across commercial contracts, strategic partnerships, intellectual property, technology and data protection matters, while also supporting editorial and corporate stakeholders on publication, communications and reputational risk considerations. In addition, the position will serve as Company Secretary to the Board, overseeing governance processes, board administration and statutory compliance matters. The ideal candidate should possess at least 15 years of post-qualification legal experience, ideally gained within a sizeable Government or Temasek-linked organisation with both governance and commercial exposure. Experience advising senior leadership teams and boards, coupled with strong stakeholder management and people leadership capabilities, will be essential. Exposure to technology, digital transformation, AI governance, media, communications or highly regulated operating environments would be viewed favourably. This opportunity would suit an individual who combines sound judgement, commercial pragmatism and governance maturity, and who is comfortable operating within a purpose-driven yet commercially evolving organisation.
