Job Summary A Healthcare Assistant (HCA) supports doctors and nurses in delivering direct, compassionate patient care. They assist patients with activities of daily living, monitor vitals, and perform basic clinical or personal care tasks to ensure patient comfort, safety, and well-being. Responsibilities ● Attend promptly to patients' needs, ensuring their comfort and well-being. ● Help patients settle down upon arrival at the Transitional Care Facility. ● Assist patients with basic activities of daily living (ADLs), such as grooming, dressing, eating, and bathing. ● Encourage and engage patients in activities that promote physical and mental well-being. ● Supervise and/or assist patients during various activities, including those requiring minimal supervision during toileting. ● Support patients in their mobility, helping them move safely and comfortably within the facility. ● Perform housekeeping duties to maintain a clean, organized, and safe environment in the ward. ● Assist in the admission, transfer, and discharge of patients, ensuring a smooth and supportive transition process. ● Perform portering duties, including the safe and efficient transport of patients within the facility. ● Participate in selected in-service training programs for skills and knowledge enhancement. ● Be familiar with the fire evacuation route and safe management measures of the Centre. ● Escort patients for review at external healthcare institutions. ● Encourage patient participation in therapeutic and recreational activities. ● Carry out other duties as assigned to support the smooth operation of the facility. Requirements: ● Compassionate and patient-focused, with a genuine desire to help others. ● Ability to work effectively as part of a team. ● Good communication skills, with the ability to engage and interact with patients. ● Basic knowledge of patient care and experience in a healthcare setting is an advantage. ● Willingness to learn and participate in ongoing training and development. ● Involve physical activities such as lifting, moving, and assisting patients. ● Shift work including nights, weekends, and holidays, depending on the facility’s operational needs.
