Contract Manager Job Responsibilities Lead and oversee all contract administration and commercial management functions for construction projects. Manage subcontract procurement, tendering, evaluation, contract negotiations, contract awards, and subcontract administration. Administer client contracts, including progress claims, variations, extension of time (EOT) submissions, and contractual claims. Prepare, monitor, and control project budgets, cost plans, and target costs to ensure project profitability and effective cost management. Analyze project cost performance, identify cost variances, and implement timely corrective actions. Maintain accurate contract records and ensure all contract-related data is properly updated in the company's contract management system. Coordinate with clients, consultants, project teams, subcontractors, and suppliers on contractual and commercial matters. Ensure compliance with company policies, contractual obligations, statutory requirements, and support internal audit activities. Promote compliance with Workplace Safety and Health (WSH) regulations and maintain confidentiality of all commercial information. Evaluate, pre-qualify, and develop strategic partnerships with subcontractors and suppliers. Requirements Bachelor's Degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Law, or a related discipline. Minimum 8 years of relevant experience in contract management, commercial management, or quantity surveying within the construction industry. Strong knowledge of construction contracts, tendering procedures, subcontract administration, cost control, and commercial management. Sound understanding of variation claims, Extension of Time (EOT), contractual claims, and dispute resolution. Excellent negotiation, communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities with attention to detail. Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel and Word. Able to work independently, prioritize tasks, and manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment. Proficient in English and Mandarin to liaise with Mandarin-speaking clients and stakeholders.
