Location: Gatten Sushi, ION Orchard 2 Orchard Turn, #B3-20 Singapore 238801 Employment Type: Full-time About the Role RDC RESTAURANT SINGAPORE PTE. LTD. is looking for a passionate and skilled Sushi Chef to join our team at Gatten Sushi, ION Orchard. The successful candidate will prepare authentic Japanese sushi and sashimi while maintaining high standards of food quality, hygiene and customer service in a fast-paced restaurant environment. Key Responsibilities Prepare sushi, sashimi, nigiri, maki, rolls and other traditional Japanese dishes according to company standards. Handle, prepare and portion fresh seafood with proper food handling techniques. Maintain excellent food quality, consistency and presentation. Ensure compliance with food safety and hygiene standards in accordance with SFA regulations. Monitor ingredient quality and freshness and assist with inventory control. Support daily kitchen operations and work closely with the Restaurant Manager and kitchen team. Guide and support junior kitchen staff where appropriate. Maintain a clean, safe and organized work environment. Contribute to continuous improvement in food quality and customer satisfaction. Requirements Relevant experience as a Sushi Chef or in Japanese cuisine. Good knowledge of traditional Japanese sushi and sashimi preparation. Strong knife skills and seafood handling techniques. Good understanding of food hygiene and food safety standards. Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced restaurant environment. Positive attitude with good communication and teamwork skills. Able to work rotating shifts, weekends and public holidays. Preferred Qualifications Experience working in an established Japanese restaurant. Experience preparing a wide variety of authentic Japanese dishes. Experience in mentoring or supervising junior kitchen staff. Passion for Japanese cuisine and commitment to delivering high-quality food and service. Salary SGD 3,500 – SGD 4,000 per month Salary will be commensurate with qualifications, relevant experience and skills.
