Job Summary: The Assistant Scaffolding Supervisor supports and assists in supervising scaffolding erection, modification, inspection, and dismantling activities at the worksite. The role ensures compliance with workplace safety requirements, scaffold standards, and project specifications. Key Responsibilities: Assist in planning daily scaffolding tasks, manpower allocation, and material requirements. Supervise scaffold erection, modification, inspection, and dismantling as per approved drawings and safety standards. Ensure scaffolding structures comply with MOM, WSH Act, SS 659:2020, SS 553, and project safety rules. Carry out scaffold inspection and maintain proper scaffold tagging system (Green / Yellow / Red tags). Guide scaffold erectors and helpers on correct installation methods, safety harness use, and fall prevention. Maintain daily activity reports, material logs, and inspection checklists. Support safety audits, toolbox talks, and risk assessments. Liaise with Project Engineers, Safety Officers, and Site Management on scaffold requirements and work progress. Report unsafe acts, hazards, and incidents without delay. Ensure tools, PPE, and scaffolding components are maintained and used safely. Required Skills & Competencies: Technical Skills: Knowledge of system scaffolds: Tube & Coupler, Ringlock, Cuplock, H-frame, Modular scaffolding. Ability to read and interpret scaffolding drawings and site layout plans. Understanding of scaffold load calculations, structural stability, and anchoring methods. Experience in working with MEWP, ladders, and fall arrest systems. Familiarity with Permit-To-Work System (PTW) and Hot/Cold Work interfaces. Knowledge of material inspection, defect identification, and corrective actions. Skilled in using scaffolding tools, lifting equipment, and hand tools safely. Safety Skills: Strong understanding of fall protection systems and working-at-height procedures. Ability to conduct Risk Assessment (RA), Safe Work Procedures (SWP), and Job Hazard Analysis (JHA) support. Good awareness of Emergency Response Procedures, rescue planning, and hazard communication. Knowledge of WSH standards: SS 659, SS 657, SS 608, SS 536. Soft Skills: Leadership and ability to supervise teams efficiently. Good communication skills with workers and site teams. Problem-solving and decision-making skills during scaffold erection and modification. Ability to work under pressure and within tight project timelines. Positive attitude, teamwork mindset, and strong work ethics. Qualifications: Valid MOM-Approved Scaffolding Course Certificate (Basic Scaffolding / Advanced Scaffolding / Scaffolding Supervisor Course — based on requirement) Minimum 2–4 years related scaffolding experience. Ability to work at height and physically fit.
