About the Role Sankyu Southeast Asia Holdings Pte. Ltd. is the regional headquarters of the Sankyu Group, overseeing engineering, plant maintenance, and business operations across Southeast Asia, India and Middle East. We are seeking an experienced senior leader to head the Mechanical Engineering Business Division and drive the growth of our regional mechanical engineering and maintenance business. Reporting to senior management, the successful candidate will provide strategic leadership and technical direction to the Group's mechanical engineering operations throughout Southeast Asia, India and Middle East. The role is responsible for strengthening collaboration among regional Group companies, supporting the business growth of seconded companies, and ensuring operational excellence across the region. As the primary liaison between Sankyu Corporation in Japan and the Southeast Asian subsidiaries, the incumbent will coordinate regional business strategies, engineering standards, and management initiatives while supporting customers in the chemical, petrochemical, energy, and manufacturing industries. Key Responsibilities Lead the Mechanical Engineering Business Division and develop regional business strategies aligned with the Group's objectives. Oversee the mechanical engineering and plant maintenance businesses of Sankyu Group companies throughout Southeast Asia, India and Middle East. Strengthen collaboration and technical cooperation among regional Group companies to support business expansion and operational excellence. Provide management oversight and technical guidance to seconded Group companies within the region. Identify and pursue new business opportunities with customers in the chemical, petrochemical, and related process industries. Develop regional engineering standards, maintenance strategies, and operational best practices. Review business performance, budgets, investment plans, and engineering initiatives across the region. Report directly to senior management of Sankyu Corporation in Japan on regional business performance, strategic initiatives, and technical matters. Coordinate regional management meetings, technical reviews, and business planning with headquarters and regional subsidiaries. Travel extensively throughout Southeast Asia, India and Middle East to support business operations and customer development. Requirements Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering discipline. Minimum 15 years of overseas experience in plant maintenance within the chemical or petrochemical industry. Minimum 10 years of management experience leading regional engineering, maintenance, or industrial operations across multiple countries. Demonstrated experience supporting and coordinating engineering operations among multiple overseas subsidiaries or Group companies. Strong knowledge of plant maintenance, turnaround management, reliability engineering, and industrial project management. Proven business development experience within the chemical or heavy industrial sectors. Professional-level Japanese language proficiency (spoken and written) is required to communicate effectively with Sankyu Corporation headquarters in Japan, including participation in executive management meetings, negotiation of regional business strategies, preparation and review of technical and management documentation, and coordination of cross-border engineering and operational matters. Business-level English proficiency to communicate effectively with regional subsidiaries, customers, and business partners throughout Southeast Asia, India and Middle East. Willingness to travel frequently throughout Southeast Asia, India and Middle East. Preferred Experience Experience working within a Japanese multinational engineering or industrial services company. Experience managing regional business operations in Southeast Asia, India and Middle East. Familiarity with chemical, petrochemical, refinery, or process plant maintenance operations. Experience leading multicultural engineering teams and regional business development initiatives.
