Database Engineer

Database Engineer Cloud Environment DB2, PostgreSQL, MySQL, Snowflake Job Scope: Administer and maintain databases including DB2, PostgreSQL, MySQL, and Snowflake . Support OLTP/OLAP environments and perform routine monitoring and health check. Optimize database performance through query tuning, indexing, and execution plan analysis. Manage backup, recovery, high availability (HA), and disaster recovery (DR) processes. Troubleshoot incidents, resolve database issues, and conduct root cause analysis (RCA). Support cloud database environments ( AWS RDS, EC2, Snowflake ) and implement security and scalability best practice. Maintain monitoring and logging tools ( CloudWatch, Grafana, Splunk ) and develop automation scripts where applicable. Support database releases, schema updates, and deployments. Maintain documentation, SOPs, and support continuous improvement initiatives. Requirements: Possess a Degree / Diploma in Computer Science, Information Technology , or related field. Minimum 3 years of hands-on database administration/engineering experience . Experience with DB2, PostgreSQL, MySQL , and cloud platforms ( AWS RDS/EC2, Snowflake ). Strong SQL scripting, stored procedures, and query optimization skills. Good understanding of database architecture, performance tuning, replication, and HA/DR concepts. Experience with monitoring tools ( Grafana, Splunk ) is an advantage. Strong troubleshooting, communication, and stakeholder management skills. Self-driven team player willing to support after-hours maintenance and incident activities.
