Principal NLP Scientist

Senior technical leader for our NLP and LLM capabilities in production. You'll set the technical direction, build and evaluate models, and take them from prototype to reliable, measurable production systems. Hands-on role — research plus real engineering impact. What you'll do Set technical direction for NLP systems; evaluate new approaches, run experiments, build prototypes Design solutions across NER, text classification, text generation, semantic search, and information extraction Lead LLM work: evaluation, prompt design, fine-tuning, RAG/GraphRAG, and safe production use Move successful models into production and own their evaluation, monitoring, and performance Define data prep, annotation strategy, and labeling quality standards Work closely with software/data engineers, product, analysts, and annotation teams What you'll need PhD in CS, ML, AI, Computational Linguistics, or related field 8+ years in ML/AI/NLP, with 5+ years hands-on NLP for production systems Strong grasp of neural architectures (Transformers, attention, embeddings, fine-tuning) Proven work in NER, classification, text generation, semantic similarity, document understanding Practical RAG, GraphRAG, knowledge graphs, embeddings, hybrid retrieval Strong Python; PyTorch and Hugging Face Transformers; Pandas, NumPy, scikit-learn; SQL Cloud experience (Azure or AWS); model optimization/serving (e.g. ONNX) Technical leadership without formal people management; Agile; strong English Nice to have Multilingual NLP · vector databases · Neo4j/FalkorDB · model monitoring & drift detection · Docker, MLOps, CI/CD for ML · .NET/C# integration · publications or patents
