Senior Backend Engineer - Marketplace, Promotion

Our dedicated engineers in backend, frontend, and QA drive seamless promotions and elevate the buyer experience. Architects of primary entry points like the Homepage and Banners, we collaborate with the APP team to enhance user traffic efficiency. Steering features like Vouchers, Item Discounts & Flash Sale, Add On Deals & Bundle deals, Shopee Coins, we propel discounts, boost platform traffic, and elevate seller orders. Responsibilities Take part in product requirement analysis and feasibility involving various features to support different promotion domains. Designing technical solutions for the requirements with detailed analysis and documentation. Building large scale distributed systems optimized for performance, availability and scalability with critical monitoring. Writing clean, testable, extendable and maintainable code using engineering best practices. Be a team player by communicating & collaborating with other team members effectively to deliver the projects. Requirements Bachelor’s or higher degree in Computer Science or related fields. Minimum 2 years of experience in Backend Development. Strong logical, analytical, and structured thinking skills. Strong hands-on experience with one or more of the following commonly used languages such as Golang / Python / Java / C++. In depth understanding of the Data Structures and Algorithms, Computer Networks, Operating Systems, Databases and Computer science fundamentals. Good understanding of Distributed Systems Fundamentals, Caching Mechanisms, Concurrency. Familiar with Data & Web Security (optional). Familiar with commonly used Relational Databases, such as MySQL. Familiar with commonly used NoSQL storage, such as redis Familiar with commonly used distributed event streaming platforms, such as kafka Familiar with commonly used network protocols, such as HTTP, TCP, UDP.
