About this role

Responsibilities Abstract complete and accurate diagnoses and procedures after a thorough review of day surgery records and assign appropriate ICD-10-AM and ACHI codes. Input data into the clinical coding system. Maintain patient confidentiality and data integrity at all times. Communicate effectively with healthcare professionals to clarify any incomplete or ambiguous documentation. Participate in internal coding audits and reviews. Maintain consistency in coding by optimizing coding output and quality. Monitor uncoded discharges from OAS system to achieve timely coding and meet subvention deadline. Work with relevant parties to resolve coding-related issues. Participate in continuing education and training of new coders. Keep up to date with coding standards and eye care-specific terminology. Identify and implement new initiatives related to operational processes and service standards. Job Requirements Minimum Diploma in Allied Health Science or Medical Science. Candidates with Certificate in ICD-10-AM Coding would have an advantage. Background or qualification as an Optometrist or experience in optometry/eye care would have an advantage. Candidates with at least 1 year of healthcare experience would be preferred.
