About the Role: STPI is a dynamic workshop and contemporary art gallery committed to promoting artistic experimentation in the mediums of print and paper. It sits alongside National Gallery Singapore and Singapore Art Museum as part of the national Visual Arts Cluster. The Creative Lead is a pivotal role responsible for shaping and safeguarding STPI's visual identity across all touchpoints — from exhibition graphic identities and marketing collateral to digital presence and retail merchandising. The Creative Lead will manage a Senior Creative Designer and external vendors and collaborate with content and marketing teams to ensure every creative output reflects STPI's standard of excellence. Core Responsibilities: Brand Guardianship Serve as the primary guardian of STPI's brand identity, ensuring consistent application of visual standards across every touchpoint — digital, print, exhibition design and the shop. Review and approve all design work produced internally and by external parties before publication or production, ensuring it meets STPI's quality and brand standards. Provide creative direction and feedback to colleagues across the organisation, supporting them to work within the brand framework. Team Leadership & Creative Direction Lead and mentor the Senior Creative Designer, setting clear creative direction and supporting their professional growth. Establish efficient workflows, clear design briefing processes, and review frameworks for the creative team. Exhibition Design & Graphic Identity Guide and mentor the Senior Creative Designer in conceptualising and developing graphic identities for each STPI exhibition, including catalogues, exhibition guides and signage, while holding overall accountability for creative quality and brand consistency. Marketing & Communications Design Work closely with the marketing team to deliver assets for all exhibitions and programmes, including EDMs, digital ads, web banners, social media assets, out-of-home advertising, and print collateral. Review and sign off on communications design produced by other teams before distribution, ensuring brand alignment and design quality. Digital Presence & Website Be responsible for the online design evolution and management of the STPI website, as the main point of contact with the design agency, overseeing ongoing updates and future developments. The Shop Contribute to the creative direction to STPI's merchandise, including ongoing product development and collaborations. Vendor & Agency Management Brief, oversee, and quality-control external creative work (freelancers and agencies), managing associated contracts, timelines, and budgets; build strong vendor relationships and identify new vendors as needed. Job Specifications Bachelor's degree in Graphic Design, Visual Communications, or a related field Minimum 7 years of design experience, with at least 3 years in a senior or lead capacity Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite; solid understanding of pre- and post-production print processes. Strong understanding of materials, lighting, and visitor-journeys with experience in environmental, spatial or exhibition design. Proven ability to manage external agencies, freelancers, and production vendors Meticulous attention to detail with strong project management and organisational skills Confident communicator who can give clear creative direction across teams and seniority levels Self-driven and collaborative, with the ability to balance independent work with team priorities
