THE ROLE You will serve as the system architect for high-precision mechanical systems across semiconductor equipment, precision motion systems, and analytical instrumentation. You work as the regional technical authority for Southeast Asian customers while architecting system solutions and leading distributed engineering teams based in India to deliver complex mechanical modules and assemblies. You collaborate directly with system architects from The Netherlands on multimillion dollar projects, defining system architecture decisions and driving technical execution across international teams. You translate customer requirements and system specifications into comprehensive mechanical architectures for wafer handling systems, precision positioning stages, optical mounting structures, environmental control modules, and metrology assemblies. This role demands strategic technical leadership combined with hands-on system design, requiring you to make critical architectural decisions while managing multi-site engineering execution and maintaining direct relationships with tier-1 customers throughout the region. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES • Define mechanical system architecture and interface specifications for semiconductor equipment and precision instrumentation platforms • Decompose customer requirements and system specifications into structured, traceable mechanical subsystem requirements and design constraints • Lead technical design reviews and defend architectural decisions to customers and internal stakeholders across international project teams • Apply advanced GD&T standards, DFM/DFA principles, and DFMEA methodologies to ensure manufacturability and reliability of ultra-precision assemblies • Drive project execution including timeline management, resource allocation, and deliverable coordination for Southeast Asian customer engagements • Conduct technical alignment sessions at Netherlands and India facilities for cross-site collaboration and knowledge transfer • Provide regional technical consultation and architecture support to customers during installation, commissioning, and field service operations • Mentor distributed engineeringteams in India on system design execution, quality standards, and architectural best practices REQUIREMENTS: • Master’s degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent technical discipline • 10+ years proven experience inhigh-tech mechanical system architecture for semiconductor equipment or precision mechanics applications • Demonstrated ability to decompose customer inputs and system specifications into structured mechanical requirements and interface definitions • Experience leading system architecture phases and making design decisions in complex multi-stakeholder environments • Expert proficiency in GD&T application, DFM/DFA principles, and DFMEA execution for precision assemblies • Experience managing and mentoring engineering teams in India as well as teams in Europe and Southeast Asia • Willingness to travel internationally (Netherlands, India) for technical collaboration and customer support Nice to have • Project management experience with ability to coordinate deliverables across distributed teams and multiple time zones • Experience with ultra-high precision positioning systems and nanometer-level accuracy requirements • Knowledge of semiconductor fab contamination control requirements and particle-free design principles • Expert proficiency with SolidWorks, NX, or similar 3D CAD platforms for precision mechanical design • Und…
