About this role
Project Assistant Engineer is accountable to the Project Manager for supporting all siteworks assigned. He/She is required to interface with LTA Project Staff,Contractors or SMRT internal stake holders to ensure that site works arecarried out safely and timely. He/She shall also ensure that work site issafely surrendered for revenue service within stipulated time. Where assigned tasks involve team working, Project Assistant Engineer may also assume the roleof Team Supervisor responsible to ensure that the roles and assignments of his/her teammates are executed safely and in compliance with company standing procedures,policy and regulations. Working in the front line within SMRT premises, he/she shall ensure that his duties aredischarged professionally and always preserve positive image of the company. Assigned project may be of different nature, location and implementation timing. Project Assistant Engineer shall be flexibly deployed to meet projects needs assigned by Project Manager. Project Assistant Engineer duties and responsibilities are as listed below. Note that the list is not exhaustive. Additional duties and responsibilities may be assigned to meet organisation needs. Duties and Responsibilities 1. Attend site survey and monitor safety of Contractors’ ground staff with compliance to internal safety procedures at sites. 2. Conduct isolation / normalisation offire protection system for Contractors’ work at site. 3. Facilitate Contractors’ LEW inswitching of breaker for isolation / energisation of equipment (e.g lighting) 4. Verify Contractor’s daily work progresson site. 5. Report daily work activities progress & site findings (safety and security). 6. Monitor Contractor’s compliance to safety requirements onsite – i.e safe work procedure, MSRA, PTW. 7. Witness Testing & Commissioning by Contractor. 8. Coordinate/discuss site issues between Authority, internal stakeholders and Contractors. 9. Perform the role of Possession Masterfor track possession / Person-In-Charge for track access 10. Perform the role of team supervisorwhen leading team of SMRT Project Assistant Engineer and/or technical officer. 11. Ensure Contractor perform proper housekeeping of parts, equipment and tools before leaving worksite. 12. Able to work night shift Qualifications and Work Experience Qualifications and work experienceinclude: · Diploma in relevant engineering discipline, or NITEC in relevant engineering discipline with > 8 years railway and/or E&M experience. Skills and Competencies · Able to communicate effectively and good team player. · Meticulous in ensuring the work and activities are performed in a safeand orderly by Contractor. · Possesses analytical mindset and exhibit leadership skills in the team
