Global Banking and Advisory, Sustainable Transport Solutions, Maritime industries (STS/MAI) originates senior secured lending opportunities on new or modern vessels for new and existing clients in accordance with the approved guidelines (regarding client quality, transaction structure, loan maturity etc.) and has a dedicated advisory team that provides wider scope advisory services to the maritime industry including financial advisory, asset level and corporate M&A insight, commercial structuring, partnership arrangements, ESG advisory, arranging alternative debt sources and commodity and related service procurement. We support ship owners and operators across the whole Asia Pacific region and for a large spectrum of ships, by providing innovative financing solutions ranging from traditional ship mortgage loans to export credit financings, leasing, advisory solutions and project finance transactions. We are at the forefront of green and sustainable finance initiatives in the shipping sector, and we closely accompany our clients in the maritime energy transition. MISSIONS 1. To effectively cover clients to address their advisory and financing needs: • Originating, executing and arranging or advising on shipping transactions. • Client interaction, pitches and presentations. • Negotiating term sheets and loan documentation. • Liaising with banks and consultants/advisors. 2. To develop and maintain a track record of winning mandates in addressing clients’ advisory and financing needs: • Seek innovative proposals or structuring solutions to develop the team’s client offering. • Analyse risk and risk mitigation and play an active part in the credit process on individual transactions. • Lead discussions with clients on specific projects; foreign travel required to the extent travel is possible. • Develop opportunities for banking and non-banking investors in debt and equity within our structured client solutions. • Dealing with internal stakeholders (portfolio management, syndication, legal, insurance, middle office, capital markets, KYC etc). • Develop junior members of the team to be autonomous in execution. 3. Budget and reporting: • Support in the development of STS/MAI business plan (where required) and management on the annual budget in conjunction with the global and regional management. • Periodic reporting of new business pipeline to global and regional management and ensuring online pipeline reporting remains up to date. 4. To contribute the development of advisory and product offering in line with STS/MAI’s strategy and priorities • Working closely with the Strategic & Capital Advisory, Maritime industries financing team to develop the APAC advisory franchise, in conjunction with global and regional management. • Ongoing cooperation with other business lines GLBA business lines re. cross-selling opportunities involving vessel financing. • Ongoing cooperation and interaction with Syndication re. banking and institutional investor markets on general basis and in relation to specific transactions. • Represent the business line internally and the bank externally amongst clients, other financial institutions, the legal profession and other market counterparties to promote the Maritime Industries business of the Bank. • Ongoing discussion with coverage officers. re new and existing transactions for clients of the Bank. • Actively target business in accordance with the bank’s risk appetite and the set strategy – raising the team’s profile with clients, prospects, banks and market counterparties. • Develop sustainable revenue growth and client base on global basis in line with risk appetite guidelines relating to counterparty risk, transaction structure, loan maturity etc. 5. Proactively structuring, originating or advising alongside lending teams on ESG related shipping transactions. • Develop new products eg retrofit finance & leasing structures, private placement etc. • Develop ESG opportunities for non-banking investors in debt and equity within our structured client solutions. • Develop new business areas focused on energy transition which are aligned with the STS/MAI business model, eg offshore windfarm installation and maintenance vessels, carbon capture/C02 shipping, ammonia & hydrogen cargo vessels, alternative fuel powered vessels port infrastructure and bunkering and other projects. 6.
