About this role
1. Screen, treat and provide nursing care to sick residents 2. Attend/carry out routine procedures for all new admissions and residents returned after absconding ego urine test, blood sugar test, rectal swab etc 3. Refer sick residents for medical examination by the doctor 4. Arrange the appointment cards and transport of residents attending appointment at hospitals and polyclinics 5. Follow-up on residents who have been transferred to hospitals 6. Update the residents' medical cards daily eg., diagnosis, treatment, transfer, appointments and discharges from hospitals 7. Work closely with the OT or PT on therapy programmes and carry out simple exercise using physiotherapy equipment, when required 8. Carry out daily rounds in the dormitories and supervise mealtimes 9. Give first-aid treatment for emergency cases 10. Refer ill residents to hospital in the absence of the doctor 11. Supervise the Assistant Nurse in their work 12. Give Health Education Talks to residents 13. Participate in in-service education programme 14. Order and maintain supplies and equipment 15.
