Staff Nurse, St. Andrew'S Nursing Home

The Senior Staff Nurse/ Staff Nurse is responsible for providing high-quality nursing care to residents in St. Andrew's Nursing Home. This role involves assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating care plans for residents, ensuring their physical, emotional, and social well-being. The Staff Nurse / Senior Staff Nurse will also supervise and mentor junior nursing staff, participate in quality improvement initiatives, and maintain a safe and supportive environment for both residents and staff. Key Responsibilities: 1. Resident Care: Assess residents’ health conditions and develop personalized care plans. Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians. Monitor and record residents' vital signs and medical information. Provide wound care and other nursing procedures as required. Assist residents with activities of daily living (ADLs), including feeding, bathing, and mobility. Respond to medical emergencies promptly and effectively. 2. Supervision and Mentorship: Supervise junior nursing staff, nurse aides and healthcare assistants Provide guidance and mentorship to junior staff, fostering a collaborative and supportive work environment. Conduct regular training sessions and ensure staff are updated with current nursing practices. 3. Communication and Coordination: Communicate effectively with residents, families, and healthcare professionals. Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive care for residents. Participate in care plan meetings and provide input on residents’ care and progress. 4. Quality Improvement: Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to the development of best practices. Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and standards of care. Conduct audits and participate in continuous education programs. 5. Documentation: Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records and documentation in the Healthcare System. Ensure all documentation meets legal and organizational standards. Report any changes in residents’ conditions to the appropriate healthcare professionals promptly. 6. Safety and Infection Control: Ensure a safe and clean environment for residents and staff. Adhere to infection control policies and procedures. Promote and practice proper hand hygiene and other safety protocols. Qualifications: Registered Nurse with the Singapore Nursing Board. Diploma or Degree in Nursing from a recognized institution. Minimum of 2-3 years of nursing experience, preferably in a geriatric or long-term care setting. BCLS and AED certification. Strong clinical skills and knowledge of geriatric care. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Leadership and supervisory experience.
