About this role

Job Purpose The Finance Officer is responsible for processing vendor payments promptly and staff reimbursements in accordance with the school's financial policies and procedures. The Finance Officer is also responsible for maintaining the Fixed Assets Register, ensuring that acquisitions and disposals are updated promptly, and conducting an annual physical verification of fixed assets to ensure accurate records. Accountabilities Payment to Vendors Process vendor payments via GIRO, PayNow, and Telegraphic Transfer (TT). Ensure payments are processed according to the weekly payment schedule. Staff Reimbursements Review staff claims to ensure they are submitted on time and accurately. Verify that claims comply with the school's reimbursement policies and procedures. Ensure all required supporting documents are attached. Process staff reimbursements accurately and in a timely manner. Fixed Assets Maintain the Fixed Assets Register. Update records for asset acquisitions and disposals promptly. Conduct an annual physical verification of fixed assets. Filing of Accounting Documents Ensure payment and fixed asset documents are filed and stored appropriately. Maintain organised and accurate financial records. Backup Support Provide backup support for Finance Officer (AP) by processing vendor invoices when required. Support the Finance Department's operations as needed. Other Duties Carry out any other reasonable duties assigned by the School Principal or Bursar.
