About this role

About StrinGaze StrinGaze provides a next-generation modern actuarial platform to life insurers across the Asia-Pacific region. The platform is purpose-built for high-performance pricing, valuation, IFRS17 reporting, financial planning & analysis, enabling major actuarial functions in the same engine. We serve insurers in Singapore, Malaysia, and Korea, with a particular focus on organisations for which model runtime and change control have become material constraints on the actuarial function. About the Role The Actuarial Manager, Service is a client-facing role responsible for leading platform implementations at insurer clients across the Asia-Pacific region. Responsibilities encompass the full delivery lifecycle: scoping proofs of concept, rebuilding clients' existing actuarial models on the StrinGaze engine, demonstrating numerical parity, and transitioning completed models to client actuarial teams. The role additionally serves as the actuarial interface to product development, with field-identified requirements informing the platform roadmap. The successful candidate will report to senior management and work closely with presales, engineering, and client-side actuarial leadership. Key Responsibilities Lead client implementations end to end, covering requirements definition, model construction, validation, handover, and post-implementation support. Rebuild clients' existing actuarial models on the StrinGaze engine, establishing numerical parity and documenting all methodological differences. Develop pricing and valuation models across IFRS 17 measurement models (GMM, VFA, PAA), Embedded Value, and applicable local statutory bases. Define, execute, and present proofs of concept, including establishment of success criteria, benchmark execution, and presentation of results to client senior actuaries. Investigate and resolve reconciliation differences against client baseline results. Deliver stochastic modelling workstreams, including participating fund projections, TVOG calculation, and economic scenario generator integration. Translate recurring client requirements into platform enhancement proposals and support engineering through to delivery. Support the presales function on technical solutioning, client workshops, and RFP responses. Produce model specifications, delivery documentation, and training materials to enable independent operation by client teams. Mentor junior consultants and contribute to the development of internal delivery methodology. Requirements Bachelor's Degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related quantitative discipline. Qualified or near-qualified Actuary (FSA, FIA, FIAA, or equivalent professional actuarial qualification). Minimum 5–8 years of actuarial experience within life or health insurance, with substantial experience in model development as distinct from results review. Demonstrated hands-on depth in an established actuarial modelling platform, including familiarity with model structure and underlying code. Programming proficiency in Python, R, or a comparable language, together with the capacity to acquire additional languages. The platform is code-first and daily development work is required. Strong working knowledge of IFRS 17 measurement and CSM mechanics, pricing and valuation methodology, and stochastic modelling techniques. Familiarity with at least one Asia-Pacific regulatory regime, such as RBC 2, K-ICS, or C-ROSS II. Proficiency in SQL and Excel VBA for data handling and client-side integration. Strong communication skills, with the ability to address both actuarial and technology stakeholders at senior level. Demonstrated experience leading projects and managing stakeholders across organisational boundaries. Preferred Qualifications Prior consulting experience with a Big 4 firm, actuarial software vendor, or specialist actuarial consultancy. Experience with model rebuild or platform migration projects. Familiarity with the Singapore, Malaysia, Korea, or China insurance markets and their respective regulatory requirements. Professional working proficiency in English, Mandarin or Korean. Experience applying version control, automated testing, or CI/CD practices to actuarial models. Experience with data visualisation tools such as Power BI or Tableau.
