Boat Master

Key Responsibilities Safely navigate and operate the launch boat in accordance with maritime regulations, port authority requirements, and company procedures. Exercise full command of the vessel and ensure the safety of all crew members, passengers, and cargo. Conduct pre-departure and post-voyage inspections to ensure the vessel is seaworthy and fully operational. Plan and execute voyages, taking into account weather conditions, tides, navigational hazards, and operational requirements. Ensure compliance with all applicable regulations issued by the Maritime and Port Authority (MPA), international maritime conventions, and company policies. Maintain accurate vessel records, including logbooks, fuel consumption, maintenance records, and voyage reports. Ensure lifesaving appliances, firefighting equipment, navigation systems, communication equipment, and safety gear are maintained in good working condition. Report defects, incidents, accidents, near misses, and operational issues promptly to management. Coordinate the embarkation and disembarkation of personnel and the loading and unloading of supplies or equipment safely. Liaise with port authorities, clients, terminal operators, and other vessels to ensure smooth operational coordination. Monitor weather forecasts and sea conditions and make operational decisions to ensure safe navigation. Ensure compliance Participate in emergency drills and lead emergency response procedures when required. Monitor fuel, lubricants, freshwater, and vessel stores, and report replenishment requirements. Ensure the vessel is kept clean, well-maintained, and operationally ready at all times. Assist in planning scheduled maintenance and coordinate repairs Perform any other duties assigned by the Company that are related to boat operations.
