About this role

The Robotics Service Engineer is responsible for the installation, commissioning, preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of industrial robotic systems and peripheral automation equipment. This role ensures high equipment uptime, system safety, and customer satisfaction through exceptional remote and on-site technical support. Key Responsibilities 1. Technical Service & Troubleshooting Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair mechanical, electrical, and electronic faults on robots (e.g., 6-axis, SCARA, Delta/parallel robots) and OmniCore or IRC5 controllers. Perform root-cause analysis on complex system failures, including communication bus errors, servo drive faults, and path inaccuracies. Conduct preventative and corrective maintenance according to standard processes and factory guidelines. 2. Insallation & Commissioning Execute on-site installation, power-up, calibration, and commissioning of new robotic cells and integration components. Modify or write robot programs. RAPID language to optimize cycle times, path accuracy, and application functionality (e.g., handling, welding, picking, or machine tending) is an additional advantage Utilize Robot offline simulation, path tuning, backup restoration, and software updates. 3. Integration & Communication Configure and troubleshoot industrial communication networks interfacing (e.g., PROFINET, EtherNet/IP, DeviceNet, PROFIBUS) , robotics systems and robot controller Interface and synchronize robots with higher-level systems such as PLCs (Siemens, Rockwell, etc.), safety sensors (SICK, etc.), vision systems, and end-of-arm tooling (EOAT). 4. Documentation & Customer Support Generate detailed service reports, maintenance logs, and commissioning validation documents. Provide high-level technical training and operational workshops to end-users and site maintenance teams. Maintain strong client relationships under high-pressure plant down-time situations by providing transparent updates and technical guidance. Job Requirements & Qualifications Academic & Experience Education: Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, Industrial Automation, or a related technical field. Experience: Minimum 2–5 years of hands-on experience in field service, maintenance, or engineering of industrial automation systems, with a strong focus on industrial robotics. Core Technical Competencies Robot Ecosystem Expertise: Proficient in Robot programming language , Rapid program is an advantage and skilled in offline simulation for design and diagnostics(Knowledge is an advantage). Electrical & Control Systems: Strong ability duly to read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and P&ID drawings. Solid understanding of PLC logic and communication setups. Mechanical Aptitude: Experience with mechanical assembly, gearboxes, timing belts, and axis-calibration techniques. Soft Skills & Work Conditions Mobility: Willingness and capability to travel extensively on short notice (often up to 20-30% travel depending on the regional scope). On-Call Availability: Requirement to participate in a rotational 24/7 standby roster to provide urgent remote troubleshooting or emergency on-site breakdown support. Problem-Solving: Strong critical-thinking and root-cause analysis skills under tight timelines. Communication: Excellent interpersonal skills to effectively communicate technical concepts to both engineering staff and non-technical plant operators.
