About this role
Responsibilities Monitor and manage enterprise Mainframe and Open Systems infrastructure to ensure maximum system availability. Perform proactive monitoring of servers, operating systems, applications, ATM systems, middleware, and network infrastructure. Monitor, schedule, execute, and troubleshoot batch jobs using enterprise scheduling tools. Execute End of Day (EOD), End of Month (EOM), and scheduled production processing activities. Perform job submissions, reruns, restarts, recovery procedures, and batch scheduling according to established SOPs. Execute IPL activities and planned production maintenance activities. Perform first level incident diagnosis, troubleshooting, and resolution while escalating complex issues to Level 2 support teams. Manage incidents, service requests, and operational alerts within SLA timelines. Maintain detailed incident logs, operational documentation, and shift handover reports. Monitor backup jobs, storage utilization, and recovery processes to ensure successful completion. Support production changes, application deployments, and release activities. Coordinate with Infrastructure, Network, Database, Middleware, and Application Support teams during production incidents. Manage controlled access to production environments, server rooms, and data centre facilities. Participate in disaster recovery exercises, system maintenance, and operational readiness testing. Ensure compliance with operational procedures, security standards, and audit requirements. Participate in 24x7 shift rotation, weekend support, and on call activities when required. Requirements: Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related discipline. Minimum 8 years of experience in Mainframe and Open Systems production support. Strong experience supporting mission critical enterprise or banking production environments. Experience working in 24x7 operations and shift based support. Strong understanding of ITIL processes including Incident, Problem, and Change Management. Experience with batch scheduling, workload automation, and production control. Knowledge of backup, recovery, disaster recovery, and operational procedures. Ability to troubleshoot production issues under pressure and meet SLA commitments. Strong analytical, problem solving, and communication skills. ITIL Foundation certification. Knowledge of enterprise monitoring, automation, and workload scheduling solutions. Experience with Data Centre Operations and Production Control. Exposure to enterprise security and audit compliance processes. Strong experience on technical skills below: Mainframe Technologies - IBM z/OS, TSO (Time Sharing Option), ISPF, JCL (Job Control Language), CICS, OPC/ESA (Operations Planning & Control), CA7 Scheduler, Control D Open Systems - AS400, BMC Control M, Tivoli Workload Scheduler, HP UX, Sun Solaris, Windows NT, VAX Monitoring tools - HP OpenView Operations, HP OpenView Network Node Manager, IBM Tivoli Monitoring, MAXIMO, ABS, NetBackup Backup & Recovery - HP OpenView Storage Data Protector, Veritas NetBackup Other Enterprise tools - BMC Remedy Action Request System, Lotus Notes Open to work in rotational shifts - 7am - 3.00pm / 2.00pm - 11.00pm / 10.00pm - 7.00am
