About this role

Job description Perform research in the following areas:Fluid (wind/wave/current) - structure interactions relevant to Marine & Offshore Engineering.Physics-informed and data-driven modelling with data assimilation using machine learning / Artificial Intelligence (AI) and physics-based simulations.Reduced-order modelling to speed up computation and achieve near real-time predictions. Assist in performing physical model tests, field experiments, numerical simulations and machine learning / AI models development to support the development of AI-assisted tools and products. Collaborate with industry partners, affiliated research institutes and other relevant stakeholders to contribute to grant and business proposals consistent with the strategic goals of TCOMS. Any other duties as assigned by supervisor. Other Requirements Qualification & Field of Study: PhD Degree in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Marine Engineering, Ocean Engineering, or other related disciplines. Work Experience: Preferably having relevant research/industry experience with competent knowledge in some of the following areas:Marine engineering, hydrodynamics, ocean engineering and coastal engineering. Prior knowledge in the following numerical methods/software/programming languages will be an advantage:CAD software such as SolidWorks, Rhino, AutoCAD.Potential flow tools such as WAMIT, SESAM, OrcaFlex, and ANSYS.CFD software such as StarCCM+ and OpenFOAM.Programming codes such as FORTRAN, Python, MATLAB, C++ or equivalent. Strong track records and experience in leading projects involving Generative AI, Deep Learning and Data Driven Predictions in the domain of Marine & Offshore. Other Requirements Good interpersonal and communications skills. Ability to adapt and work effectively as members of a team. Strong written and verbal communication Resourceful and self-driven with a high degree of professional integrity. The above eligibility criteria are not exhaustive.
