Our client is an established and highly regarded international private equity firm that is experiencing strong growth. As a dynamic and innovative organization, the firm is building up its valuation expertise and is seeking to hire a Fund Finance Manager covering fund valuation work. This is a hybrid role, with an initial allocation of approximately 40%–50% focused on the fund valuation function, and 50%–60% covering fund accounting/fund operations/ tax matters. Over time, the role will evolve with an increasing emphasis on valuation responsibilities. For this role, you will report directly to the Managing Director, Finance. JobOverview A hybrid role responsible for both the valuation processes and finance/accounting/fundoperations across the firm’s funds and investment holding entities. You will also ensure the operational excellence of fund operations and valuation processes across the diversified portfolio of FoF (fund of funds) and direct investments. Roles &Responsibilities: Valuation Managein-house independent valuation activities, including financial modelling or financial model reviews, and reviewing valuation reports. Collaborate and build strong rapport with internal stakeholders as well as external parties(service providers, auditors etc.) on valuation-related matters relevant to our investments Support Fund Valuation Control process, including ensuring timely delivery of valuation outputs across all asset classes to support our valuation cycles. Contributing to process improvement: Identify opportunities to improve valuation methodologies, reporting tools, and operational workflows. Fund Accounting/Operations Review books and accounting records of the Private Equity Funds and investment holding entities, ensuring transactions and records are captured and updated in the accounting and portfolio management system on a timely basis. Support investment teams on operational, financial and funding requirements Support audit, tax and other statutory requirements within stipulated timelines Respond to information needs of management to meet new accounting and business requirements Support or participate in projects (e.g. process improvements, system enhancements, new entity or product setup) as assigned. Qualifications & Requirements: • Degree in accounting or finance from a reputable university with good academic qualifications. Qualified Accountants with relevant valuation experience will be considered. • Has at least 3+ years of valuation experience, some of which is gained with Big 4 firms or a PE firm. Expected total years of finance experience is around 5-10 years. • Added external audit experience covering PE/asset management firms will be highly preferred. • Has a good understanding of the different types of financial instruments and valuation concepts. • Has an understanding of private market valuations and the ability to challenge the accuracy of valuations prepared is a plus. • Detailed understanding of valuation methodologies • Good working knowledge of Finance/ Accounting policies and procedures, audit and accounting laws, practices and regulations • Technically strong in financial reporting and accounting standards (local GAAPs to IFRS/USGAAP) • Meticulous, organised, independent, a strong team player and possesses excellent interpersonal, communication and analytical skills who is keen to learn and pick up new challenges in a dynamic and fast-paced environment • Drivenself-starter, proactive and self-motivated with strong initiative, who ishands-on and comfortable managing multiple tasks, is confident in engaging different stakeholders, and can work independently to deliver quality work and outcomes within stipulated timelines • Strong proficiency in PC skills, Microsoft Office/ Excel (e.g. formulas, pivots, data analysis). • Positive attitude, keen to learn and willing to take on new challenges. • Process-savvy and have a strong mindset for process efficiencies Selling points: The company offers an attractive variable bonus in addition to a competitive base salary Backed by a premier and global investment firm, the company is in a growth mode.
