Technical Lead (1-Year Renewable Contract) About the Role We are looking for an experienced Technical Lead to lead the delivery of enterprise applications while providing technical leadership to a team of software engineers. This role is offered on a 1-year renewable contract , supporting a long-term strategic programme with a major system go-live planned for 2029 . While the initial engagement is on a contract basis, the project is expected to run over multiple phases, offering long-term continuity. You will be responsible for driving end-to-end software delivery, providing architectural guidance, mentoring development teams, and ensuring engineering best practices are consistently applied throughout the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC). Key Responsibilities Lead and mentor a team of software engineers, fostering technical excellence and continuous improvement. Drive the delivery of projects using Agile/Scrum methodologies, ensuring timely and high-quality releases. Design scalable, secure, and maintainable application architectures and technical solutions. Review solution designs, code quality, and technical documentation to ensure alignment with engineering standards. Collaborate with Product Owners, Business Analysts, Architects, and business stakeholders to translate requirements into technical solutions. Champion DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, and automation to improve software delivery efficiency. Identify technical risks, recommend mitigation strategies, and support production issue resolution where required. Establish and promote software engineering best practices, coding standards, and governance. Evaluate and adopt emerging technologies, including AI-assisted software development practices where appropriate. Requirements Minimum 5 years of experience in a Technical Lead or equivalent technical leadership role.
