0731 - Chemical Engineering Technician

Role: Chemical Engineering Technician (Solvent Recovery) Location: Tuas (Company Transport / Transport Allowance $120 if candidate travel to work by themselves) Working hours: Monday to Friday (8am – 5pm); Saturday (8am – 12pm) / Shift Work (Day: 8am – 8pm, Night: 8pm – 8am) Basic salary: $1,900 – $2,700 (Entitled to overtime / shift work allowances) + Sign-on bonus (T&C apply) Requirements Minimum NITEC/Diploma in Chemical Engineering, Biotechnology, or a related field. Proficient in basic computer applications (e.g., MS Office, email, internet research). Able to perform overtime/shift work. Responsibilities: To work at distillation process plant to make sure distil spent waste material into product. To ensure distillation process plant operates in safe operation parameters. To ensure the safety of the transferring of the flammable material. To ensure close co-ordination with the Laboratory for waste/product sampling. To ensure the following up of the SOP. To co-ordinate closely with the Laboratory & resale team for the re-sell items. To ensure there is sufficient storage capacity, and the product safely stored and treated. To ensure the performance and efficiency of distillation process plant in terms of the recovery yield and utilities consumption. Startup/shut down operation of distillation process plant according to SOP. Record process data and report any deviations. Identify and rectify process upset and equipment malfunction timely. Work with engineering to resolve equipment issues and implement preventive measures. conduct routine inspections for leaks, spills, and safety hazards. Ensure safe handling of materials that are flammable. To participate training program to enhance chemical and safety knowledge.
