Overview of the Role We are seeking a hands-on, detail-oriented finance professional to own the end-to-end Portfolio Manager (PM) compensation process, including calculation, governance, reporting, controls, automation, and system transformation initiatives. The role requires a strong financial and accounting foundation, exceptional attention to detail, and the ability to work hands-on with large and complex datasets. The individual must also possess the confidence and credibility to engage directly with senior Portfolio Managers and present financial analyses and compensation outcomes to senior management. In addition, the role will play a key part in the implementation of a PM compensation platform and the integration of PM compensation processes into the firm's future ERP ecosystem. This role will partner closely with Portfolio Managers, Finance, HR, Technology, and senior management to ensure accurate, scalable, and well-controlled compensation processes. Candidates with coding, automation, data engineering, or AI expertise will be highly preferred. Key Requirements Qualifications & Experience: Degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Data Analytics, Mathematics, or related discipline. 10+ years of relevant experience in financial control, management accounting, fund accounting, compensation analytics, or finance transformation. Strong accounting, financial analysis, and control framework knowledge. Experience working with large datasets and complex calculations. Professional qualification (CPA, CA, ACCA, CFA) is advantageous. Excellent communication and presentation skills with experience engaging senior stakeholders. Technical Skills: Advanced Excel and financial modelling skills. Experience with Python, SQL, VBA, Power BI, Alteryx, or similar tools preferred. Data engineering, workflow automation, and process digitization experience. AI and Generative AI applications within finance and operational processes. Key Responsibilities PM Compensation & Financial Control Own and manage regular PM compensation calculations and reporting. Ensure accuracy, integrity, and consistency of compensation outcomes. Perform financial analysis, reconciliations, and validations across performance, revenue, cost allocations, and compensation data. Maintain robust controls, audit trails, and governance processes. Data Management & Analytics Manage large and complex datasets, including data cleansing, validation, and reconciliation. Develop and maintain compensation models, dashboards, and management reports. Present PM compensation and profitability analysis to senior management. Process Improvement & Automation Identify opportunities to streamline and automate existing processes. Reduce manual effort through automation, workflow improvements, and AI-enabled solutions. Drive continuous improvement in reporting, controls, and operational efficiency. Systems Implementation & ERP Integration Lead or support the implementation of a PM Compensation System. Translate compensation methodologies into system logic, workflows, and controls. Partner with business, technology, and vendors on system design, testing, and deployment. Drive the integration of PM compensation processes into the firm's new accounting ERP platform upon go-live. Support finance transformation, process redesign, system integration, and data migration initiatives. Stakeholder Management Act as the primary finance contact for PM compensation matters. Confidently engage and manage challenging discussions with senior Portfolio Managers. Communicate complex financial and compensation concepts clearly and effectively. Build strong partnerships across Finance, Technology, HR, Operations, and Investment teams.
