Quality Officer Job Description We are looking for a detail-oriented and proactive Quality Officer to support the implementation, maintenance, and continuous improvement of our Food Safety Management System. The successful candidate will ensure compliance with food safety, quality, and regulatory standards while supporting audits and maintaining documentation in a food manufacturing environment. Key Responsibilities Food Safety & Quality Implement and maintain the SS 590 Food Safety Management System. Ensure compliance with HACCP, GMP, hygiene, sanitation, and food safety requirements. Conduct routine inspections of production, processing, and storage areas. Monitor Critical Control Points (CCPs) and ensure corrective actions are implemented. Perform incoming, in-process, and finished product quality inspections. Investigate quality issues, customer complaints, and non-conformities, and support corrective and preventive actions (CAPA). Documentation & Compliance Maintain food safety and quality records, SOPs, and documentation. Ensure compliance with Singapore Food Agency (SFA) regulations and customer requirements. Prepare quality reports and assist with document control and revision of quality procedures. Audit & Certification Conduct internal audits and hygiene inspections. Support external certification, customer, and regulatory audits (e.g. SS 590, Fairtrade, Rainforest Alliance). Follow up on audit findings and ensure timely closure of corrective actions. Participate in food safety team meetings and management reviews. Training & Laboratory Support Conduct food safety, hygiene, and quality training for employees. Promote food safety awareness across the organisation. Coordinate product sampling and laboratory testing. Review microbiological and chemical testing results and monitor environmental hygiene programmes. Administrative Support Perform data entry and maintain quality records and compliance logs. Assist in preparing reports and production documentation. Coordinate with production teams to ensure audit readiness and timely data collection. Requirements Diploma or Degree in Food Science, Food Technology, Quality Assurance, or a related discipline. Experience in a food manufacturing environment. Knowledge of HACCP principles, GMP, and Singapore Food Agency (SFA) regulations. Experience supporting or participating in internal and external audits. Strong attention to detail with good documentation and organisational skills. Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook). Good communication and interpersonal skills. Able to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
