About this role

Job Description Team Leadership & Technical Management Lead and manage a team of mechanical engineers, piping engineers, designers, drafters, and BIM modellers for process plant projects (incineration, water/wastewater treatment, etc.) Provide technical guidance and mentorship to team members, ensuring professional development Establish efficient workflows, systems, and procedures for mechanical/piping engineering design work Implement comprehensive quality control procedures for all mechanical/piping deliverables Engineering Design & Standards Oversee the design and engineering of mechanical systems with emphasis on piping work Ensure all designs comply with relevant international standards, codes, and project specifications Develop and review technical specifications and engineering drawings Create and maintain company standard design drawings, specifications, and engineering databases Drive design optimization and value engineering initiatives Project Execution & Coordination Monitor project schedules and ensure timely delivery of engineering documents Coordinate with other engineering disciplines, procurement, and construction teams Identify and resolve engineering issues during design and construction phases Interface with clients on technical matters and engineering solutions Cost Management & Tendering Prepare accurate cost estimations for mechanical systems for tenders and proposals Support bid preparation with technical expertise and innovative solutions Evaluate vendor quotations and technical proposals Requirements Bachelor's degree in Mechanical/Chemical/Environmental Engineering or better Minimum 15 years' proven experience in mechanical and piping engineering for process plants (incineration, water/wastewater treatment, etc.) At least 5 years' experience in leadership or team lead role Extensive knowledge of piping engineering, design principles, and mechanical systems for process plants Proficiency in relevant industry standards (ASME, ASTM, API, etc.) and Singapore codes of practice Strong understanding of materials selection, piping stress analysis, valves, and mechanical specifications Demonstrated ability to prepare accurate mechanical system cost estimations for tenders Proficient in MS Office applications Familiarity with AutoCAD 2D and BIM software (Autodesk, Bentley, etc.) Strong leadership abilities with proven track record of effective team management Exceptional problem-solving and troubleshooting skills for complex technical issues Excellent interpersonal and communication skills for facilitating technical discussions Demonstrated ability to control schedules and budgets to ensure project success
