About the Role As an Electrical & Mechanical Technician, you will be responsible for ensuring the reliable operation, maintenance, and repair of electrical and mechanical systems to minimise equipment downtime and maximise operational efficiency. Key Responsibilities Support dept TLs, engineers, and managers by ensuring all equipment are inready-to-use conditions Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on electrical and mechanical equipment to ensure optimal performance and minimise downtime. Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair equipment faults and respond promptly to equipment breakdowns. Conduct root cause analysis (RCA) for equipment failures and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence. Carry out equipment installation, dismantling, replacement, and servicing as required. Perform Measuring and Monitoring Equipment (MME) validation and calibration. Attend to maintenance work requests and complete maintenance tasks within the required timeframe. Support engineers, team leaders, and managers in ensuring all plant equipment is maintained in a safe and ready-to-operate condition. Assist in maintaining accurate maintenance records, including daily maintenance reports and preventive maintenance schedules. Coordinate and support external contractors during servicing and maintenance activities to ensure work is carried out safely and according to company standards. Monitor spare parts inventory, perform stock takes, and maintain accurate inventory records. Participate in continuous improvement initiatives by identifying opportunities to improve equipment reliability, efficiency, and maintenance processes. Comply with all workplace health, safety, and environmental regulations. Carry out daily 5S housekeeping activities and participate in safety inspections, Work Improvement Suggestions (WIS), near-miss reporting, and other continuous improvement initiatives. Collaborate effectively with engineers, supervisors, production personnel, and fellow technicians to support smooth plant operations. Requirements: Minimum ITE NITEC in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or an equivalent qualification. Fresh graduates are welcome to apply. Candidates with relevant experience in electrical and/or mechanical maintenance within a manufacturing or industrial environment will have an added advantage. Basic knowledge of electrical and mechanical systems. Ability to troubleshoot equipment and perform basic root cause analysis. Basic report writing and documentation skills. Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office applications. Able to communicate effectively in simple English, both spoken and written. Candidates who demonstrate a high level of technical competency may be considered for a Senior Technician position. Able to work independently with minimal supervision. A strong team player with good interpersonal and communication skills. Positive attitude with a strong sense of responsibility. Self-motivated, proactive, and willing to learn new skills.
