About this role

The Utility Technician is responsible for the installation, inspection, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of utility systems and equipment to ensure the smooth operation of facilities and infrastructure. The role supports daily operational activities while ensuring compliance with workplace safety regulations and company standards. Key Responsibilities Perform routine inspection, preventive maintenance, and repair of utility systems and equipment. Carry out troubleshooting and rectify faults in electrical, mechanical, plumbing, and other utility-related systems. Assist with the installation, commissioning, and testing of utility equipment. Monitor utility systems to ensure optimal performance and identify potential issues before failures occur. Respond promptly to maintenance requests and emergency breakdowns. Conduct regular checks on pumps, generators, compressors, air-conditioning systems, water supply systems, lighting, and other facility equipment. Record maintenance activities, inspection findings, and repair work accurately. Ensure tools, equipment, and work areas are maintained in a clean and safe condition. Comply with Workplace Safety and Health (WSH) regulations, company safety policies, and standard operating procedures. Coordinate with contractors and vendors during maintenance or repair works when required. Support improvement initiatives to enhance equipment reliability and operational efficiency. Perform any other duties assigned by the Supervisor or Manager. Requirements Minimum NITEC, Higher NITEC, ITE Certificate, or equivalent qualification in Electrical, Mechanical, Facilities Management, Building Services, or a related discipline. At least 1 year of relevant maintenance or utility experience is preferred. Entry-level candidates are welcome to apply. Basic knowledge of electrical, mechanical, plumbing, or building maintenance systems. Able to read technical drawings and maintenance manuals is an advantage. Familiarity with preventive maintenance practices. Possess good troubleshooting and problem-solving skills. Able to work independently as well as in a team. Willing to work overtime, rotating shifts, weekends, or perform standby duties when required. Physically fit and comfortable working in indoor and outdoor environments.
