Working Day: 5days (Mon - Fri) Working Hours: 7.45am – 4.45pm Location: West Area (Tuas) Shuttle Bus Provided: Khatib MRT, Jurong East MRT and Lakeside MRT Job Summary: The company is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Welder / Metal Fabrication Operator responsible for precision tank/jacket fabrication and welding work. This role involves welding, assembly, grinding, and quality inspection of stainless steel and special alloy materials to ensure products meet high-precision manufacturing standards. The ideal candidate should have experience in TIG welding, sheet metal fabrication, blueprint reading, and precision manufacturing, and be able to work in an environment with high quality and safety requirements. Job Responsibilities: 1) Perform TIG welding on stainless steel, titanium, and other engineered materials 2) Carry out precision welding for CAN (tank/jacket) structures, thin-wall cylindrical parts, and repair components 3) Read and interpret engineering drawings, fabrication drawings, and welding symbols 4) Operate the following metal fabrication equipment: Shearing machine Rolling machine Bending machine Grinding and polishing equipment Cutting equipment 5) Perform other non-welding tasks and equipment operations as assigned by supervisors 6) Conduct assembly, tack welding, grinding, deburring, and surface finishing 7) Ensure weld quality meets company and customer standards 8) Use measuring tools for dimensional inspection and visual checks 9) Handle weld repairs and troubleshooting 10) Maintain a clean and organized work area in compliance with 5S requirements 11) Strictly follow EHS (Environment, Health & Safety) regulations 12) Collaborate with engineering, quality, and production teams to improve manufacturing efficiency and product quality 13) Support Continuous Improvement and Lean Manufacturing activities Requirements Education &Experience Technical school / vocational diploma / degree in Mechanical Engineering, Welding, Precision Engineering, or related fields 2–5 years of welding and metal fabrication experience Experience in vacuum chamber fabrication, special metal materials, or precision stainless steel welding is preferred Technical Skills Proficient in TIG welding (GTAW), especially for thin stainless steel sheets and special metals such as titanium Basic MIG welding skills are an advantage Able to read mechanical drawings and welding symbols Familiar with dimensional tolerances and precision assembly requirements Able to use measuring tools such as calipers and micrometers Knowledge of welding defects, distortion control, and surface finishing processes Preferred Qualifications Welding certification is preferred Experience in semiconductor, medical, aerospace, or high-precision manufacturing industries is preferred Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing / 5S / Continuous Improvement concepts Soft Skills Detail-oriented with strong focus on welding quality Good problem analysis and problem-solving skills Able to work independently and as part of a team Strong safety awareness Willing to work overtime or shifts when required Proficiency in Mandarin is required to effectively communicate and collaborate with China-based stakeholders.
