Maintenance Carpenter

Plans and lays out work from blueprints, drawings, models, or verbal instructions using a variety of carpenters hand tools, portable power tools, and standard measuring instruments, makes standard shop computations relating to dimensions of work, and selects materials necessary for the work Ensures and delivers an adequate supply of tools, equipment, and materials needed to complete jobs are at work sites as required Uses hand and power tools to measure, cut, and shape wood, drywall, and related materials to specification Uses hand and power tools to fabricate, install and repair solid surface materials (countertops, partitions and wall surfaces) Joins materials with nails, screws, staples, or adhesives Ensures adequate supplies of tools, equipment, and materials needed to complete jobs are at work sites as required Repairs and perform minor furniture repair Assist experienced carpenters in the construction, installation, and repair of structures and fixtures made from wood and other materials. Learn to read and interpret blueprints, sketches, and building plans to understand project requirements. Help in measuring, cutting, and shaping wood and other materials according to specifications. Support in maintaining tools and equipment, ensuring they are in good working order. Participate in job site safety practices and adhere to all safety regulations. Engage in hands-on training and skill development through on-the-job learning and mentorship from skilled carpenters.
