Accountable For: Typical Responsibilities and Standards 1) Control access to Radio, Communications, DCS, ICSS, SCADA equipment and software. 1.Control access to cabinets & systems for engineering / maintenance activities using appropriate methods. 2.Ensure correct level of access to the system for various personnel (e.g Operation and other contractors). 3.Change passwords at suitable intervals and maintain a list of issued keys and passwords. 3) Maintain the condition of Radio, Communications, DCS, ICSS, SCADA equipment and software 1.Maintain all communication systems to Company, Class and Regulatory Body standards. 2.Monitor the spare parts inventory on a regular basis and maintain stock levels. 3.Handle and store spare parts appropriately and securely. 4.Maintain an accurate inventory of the required software/configuration back-ups. 4) Monitor physical condition of Radio, Comminications DCS, ICSS and SCADA equipment 1.Regular checks are carried out to confirm that critical maintenance is executed. 2.Condition of equipment rooms and cabinets and cleanliness inside was checked periodically and appropriate corrective action is taken. 3.The true status of overrides and inhibits is reviewed on a regular basis and system logbooks are maintained. 5) Recover system Integrity. 1.Interpret error messages and use appropriate diagnostic tools. 2.Clarify the nature of problems with engineering products/assets. 3.Repair faults to level of ability and responsibility; communicate with vendors/ specialists for help-desk type solutions. 4.Guide vendor personnel to perform their activities in a safe and effective manner. 6) Monitor and advise on system changes. 1.Verify that any changes made conform to the design and are appropriately tested, software back-ups are made and drawings have been checked and marked up for as-built status. 2.Ensure that the consequences of changes to the system’s configuration or parameter setting are communicated to relevant parties. 3.Changes (alarm/trip setting and critical parameters) are recorded in the MMS system. 4.Changes are controlled within the Management of Change (MOC) procedure and approved by the relevant personnel and body where appropriate (Technical Authority, Class. Regulatory Body). 5.Make recommendation and improvements in working practices for greater safety, efficiency and profitability. 6.Make software/configuration back-up sets periodically and store appropriately and safely. 7.Maintain an accurate inventory of the required software/configuration back-ups. 9.Apply revision control to software/configuration back-ups. 10.Maintain a current, master set of drawings and manuals readily accessible for maintenance. 11.The drawing/documentation set is updated with checked and marked up drawings following completion of changes and projects. Copies are sent for update of originals on regular basis. The drawing/documentation set is marked up following the identification of deviations between actual situation and the documents. 5) Contribute to the health and safety of the working environment 1.Work areas within your own responsibility are kept clean and free of hazards. 2.Positive action is taken to stop hazards and unsafe behavior. 3.Colleagues and subcontractors are alerted ASAP of any hazards or changing conditions which could potentially result in a dangerous situation. 5.All potential and actual incidents are reported to the relevant supervisor (OTL/ OIM). 7) Emergency Response 1.Show competence during drills and exercises. 2.Perform emergency response role competently, including drills and training exercises. Pre-hire Qualifications and Experience Good levels of written and spoken communication in English. Proven experience and/or qualified to N/SVQ/HNC/ HND/ University Degree (or equivalent) in electrical/ instrumentation and/ or electronics. MOC Certificate. Minimum 3 years’ experience with offshore experience preferred Good experience with Permit To Work, Electrical Isolation Standards and Risk Assessment techniques Experience with computerized maintenance recording systems ( Workmate a benefit ) Ability to use diagnostic software and equipment as required ( DaWinci , Synergy ).
