About this role

Job Responsibilities • Assist in the overall coordination and management of the Company’s shipping-related operations, achieving a balanced approach between transportation efficiency, cost control and risk management, in support of the Company’s business objectives. • In line with the Company’s business needs and shipping market conditions, support senior management in formulating and implementing medium- to long-term and short-term capacity deployment and control strategies; participate in commercial decision-making related to vessel chartering and shipping cooperation (including time charter, voyage charter and contracts of affreightment), with a focus on cost control, revenue enhancement, identification of potential risks and provision of decision-making recommendations. • Oversee and track seaborne movements and flow trends of bulk commodities (such as bauxite and iron ore); possess an understanding of futures and related commercial concepts; analyse market supply–demand dynamics; monitor shipping market developments (FFA/freight rates, routes, vessel types, changes in supply and demand, etc.); conduct evaluations and planning, prepare analytical reports, and develop market expansion plans. • Supervise the execution of transportation contracts; maintain efficient communication with internal teams and external partners (including shipowners, brokers, agents and ports); coordinate voyage planning and execution between ship management and shipping teams to ensure safe, efficient, timely and compliant operations. • Represent the Company, when assigned, at conferences and meetings related to bulk commodity trading and shipping, to enhance the Company’s industry presence and stay abreast of market trends and frontier developments. • Assist in fleet renewal and development planning, including second-hand vessel transactions and newbuilding projects; provide commercial and operational analysis support and coordinate related implementation activities. • Provide shipping and logistics support for project cargo vessels, OGVs or specialised vessels; assess the feasibility and cost of transportation solutions and propose corresponding risk mitigation measures. • Undertake other ad hoc tasks as assigned. Qualifications and Requirements • Bachelor’s degree or above in shipping, maritime studies, logistics, international trade or a related discipline. • Minimum of 10 years’ relevant professional experience in the shipping industry, covering areas such as shipping management, ship management, dry bulk chartering, bulk commodity transportation or project logistics. • Strong international mindset, commercial and legal awareness, and comprehensive judgement capability; able to analyse issues from cost, risk and operational perspectives and provide sound recommendations. • Background with large-scale or leading shipping companies; familiar with overall shipping business models and operational processes; proven experience in leading and personally participating in shipping commercial negotiations and charterparty discussions; familiarity with, or understanding of, newbuilding and vessel sale and purchase commercial processes. • Experience in team management or personnel supervision; candidates with Master Mariner (Captain) experience or qualifications will be given preference. • Highly self-motivated with strong teamwork awareness; honest and principled, meticulous in execution, with strong integrity, self-discipline and a good professional reputation within the industry. • Proficient in both spoken and written English and Chinese, as required for liaison with Chinese-speaking counterparts; willing to travel frequently.
