For a Singapore designer, the best search is often the one that reveals relevant creative work and makes the portfolio easy to assess. Cultjobs and ApplyLah approach different parts of that task. Compare the audience first, then the application process.
TL;DR
Choose Cultjobs for a concentrated creative search and its existing candidate application tools. Consider ApplyLah when you want a broader shortlist connected to tailoring and supported, approved applications, subject to 2.0 access.

What is Cultjobs?
Cultjobs is a Singapore creative job board spanning design, media, advertising and related business roles. It is a specialist channel rather than a general-purpose automation product.
Its candidate account supports CV reuse, application history and alerts. That makes it more than a directory: the relevant comparison is specialist discovery and reusable profile applications versus a broader preparation and supported execution workflow. (Cultjobs job search; Cultjobs FAQ)
What is ApplyLah?
ApplyLah is built for job seekers across career stages, focused on Singapore and Asia. Its large job database connects discovery and matching with application preparation.
ApplyLah 2.0 finds and ranks roles, tailors materials from your background and supports auto-applying to suitable jobs you approve. Support depends on the employer system, required information and the access enabled for your account. Application records and employer confirmations are tracked separately.
The resume review is public. The broader 2.0 workflow has a waitlist and separate private beta invitations; joining the waitlist does not unlock every feature immediately. Public 2.0 pricing and allowances have not been announced.
Comparison
Separate job-board access from employer advertising
Cultjobs exposes its listings publicly and explains its candidate profile tools in the FAQ. Its free job-ad statement concerns employers; it is not a useful basis for inventing a candidate subscription comparison. Start with the available search and check any account terms before uploading materials.
ApplyLah offers public resume review. Its 2.0 workflow has a waitlist and separately invited private beta; no public 2.0 prices or application allowances have been announced. Compare the access you actually have before planning your search around automation. (Cultjobs job search; Cultjobs FAQ; ApplyLah 2.0; ApplyLah resume review)
Search for the work, not just the job title
The homepage groups opportunities around creative disciplines. For a designer moving towards content production, this makes adjacent titles worth inspecting alongside familiar design vacancies. A title alone can hide a very different balance of concept development, editing, client work and production.
Build a shortlist around the outputs you want to own. Read for expected formats, software, decision-making responsibility and portfolio requirements. Keep an agency role and an in-house role separate if their briefs demand different examples; one generic pitch can obscure the evidence that makes either application convincing. (Cultjobs job search)
Make the portfolio usable before simplifying the submission
Cultjobs documents ways to include a portfolio. Treat that as a delivery decision: a combined document is convenient, while a link can give more room for work samples. Check that a hiring manager can open your chosen format without requesting access.
Choose two or three projects that answer the actual brief. Explain your contribution, constraints and what you delivered; distinguish your work from the wider team’s. A polished image without that context can leave the employer guessing. Reusing a CV should save repetition without freezing an outdated portfolio selection.
Finding a job through another board does not establish that ApplyLah can submit to it. Its supported workflow connects discovery, ranking, tailoring and approved auto-applying on supported employer systems. Track employer confirmations separately from attempts and local records. (Cultjobs FAQ; ApplyLah 2.0)
Keep the brief beside the application
Application history is useful, but your own preparation record should also identify the portfolio version and brief you answered. Save those together before a listing changes. If a recruiter asks about a project later, you can discuss the same evidence they received.
When comparing offers or interviews, assess the work itself: who reviews creative decisions, how feedback arrives and which outputs occupy most of the week. A specialist board can bring the right category into view; deciding whether the role develops your craft still requires reading and conversation. (Cultjobs FAQ)
Illustrative Singapore scenario: a designer changing direction
Fictional example: Mei has agency design experience and wants more motion work. No vacancy or hiring outcome is implied.
This is an illustrative decision exercise, not a live search, a product test or an application result.
- Compare briefs She searches Cultjobs for design and motion titles, then separates production-heavy openings from roles centred on static campaigns.
- Pick evidence She prepares a short reel and explains which animation and design decisions she owned, checking that her portfolio link opens correctly.
- Choose a channel She follows each listing’s application route. If using ApplyLah for a broader search, she reviews its ranked roles and approves supported applications only after checking the brief.
Which should you choose?
Choose Cultjobs when creative relevance, portfolio presentation and a focused Singapore board are your immediate priorities. Its profile tools can reduce repeated application work within that channel.
Choose ApplyLah when your search extends across industries or role families and you want discovery connected to tailoring and supported approved applications. Confirm beta access and employer-system support first.
For ApplyLah, you can review your resume or join the 2.0 waitlist. Check the other product's linked access terms before committing time or money.
Sources & method
Job-count methodology, 6 November 2026: ApplyLah reports an average of 65k+ jobs per month, confirmed by its team on 6 November 2026. An average across months is different from one specific window: a separate read-only snapshot counted 41,471 Singapore-eligible postings from 7 October, 09:52 SGT to 6 November 2026, 09:52 SGT, excluding suppressed and known-dead records. That snapshot does not independently establish the monthly average or unique live-vacancy count. Competitor figures retain their published geography and definition: monthly averages, 30-day postings and current board totals are distinct measures.
