Operations Manager (Contract Logistics)

About: Our client are looking for an experienced Operations Manager to oversee end-to-end warehouse operations, drive operational excellence, and lead continuous improvement initiatives. This role is ideal for a commercially minded logistics professional with strong leadership capabilities and a proven track record in managing large-scale warehouse operations. Responsibilities: Lead and oversee daily warehouse operations, ensuring efficient workflows, productivity, and service excellence. Optimize warehouse layout, operational processes, and automation initiatives to improve overall efficiency. Drive cost optimization by managing labour costs, overtime, third-party service providers, and operational expenditures. Act as the key operational contact for customers, building strong relationships while supporting contract renewals and business growth opportunities. Lead Lean Six Sigma and continuous improvement initiatives to enhance operational performance and service quality. Manage operational budgets, P&L performance, and resource planning to achieve business objectives. Review and approve operational purchases, equipment requirements, and third-party service costs within approved authority limits. Ensure full compliance with workplace safety, regulatory, and quality standards. Conduct manpower planning, capacity forecasting, and workforce optimization based on business volume projections. Monitor operational KPIs and leverage data analytics to drive informed business decisions. Present operational performance updates during customer business reviews and internal management meetings. Lead, coach, and develop a high-performing operations team while fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement. Requirements: Bachelor Degree in Business, Supply Chain, Logistics, or a related discipline. At least 5 years of managerial experience within Contract Logistics, Warehousing, or Supply Chain Operations. Strong understanding of warehouse operations, cost control, and P&L management. Experience leading Lean Six Sigma, continuous improvement, or operational excellence initiatives. Proficient in data analysis and reporting tools such as Power BI or Tableau. Strong commercial acumen with the ability to understand customer contracts, service level agreements (SLAs), and pricing structures. Excellent leadership, stakeholder management, communication, and presentation skills. Proven ability to lead large, cross-functional teams in a fast-paced logistics environment.
