AI Data Platform Lead

Our client is building out a modern data and AI platform function and is looking for a strong technical leader to shape the next stage of its capability. This is a hands on platform leadership role: defining architecture, building scalable foundations and enabling engineering, analytics and AI teams to deliver meaningful products faster. You will work closely with senior business and technology stakeholders, turning complex needs into practical, well-engineered platforms. You will lead the design and evolution of data platforms, pipelines, data products, governance and AI-enabled capabilities. There is room to remain deeply technical while building and guiding a high-quality engineering team. Key experience: Leading modern data platform, data engineering or AI platform teams Strong cloud data architecture experience Databricks, Snowflake, Spark, Kafka, dbt, Airflow, Kubernetes or comparable technologies Python, SQL and strong software engineering principles Data governance, security, lineage, quality and platform reliability Building APIs, reusable data products and self-service capabilities Practical experience delivering ML, GenAI, RAG or LLM-enabled solutions is highly valuable Able to set technical direction while still getting involved in delivery We are looking for someone commercially minded, communicative and pragmatic: a person who enjoys solving hard problems, raising engineering standards and getting useful technology into the hands of the business.
