Drone pilot is responsible for the setup, operation, maintenance, troubleshooting and testing of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs). The ideal candidate will have strong technical skills, experience with UAV systems Key Responsibilities Pre-Flight Preparation: Conduct pre-flight checks on the drone, ensuring that it's in proper working condition and all necessary equipment is functioning correctly. This includes inspecting the UAV, batteries, sensors, and other components. Flight Planning: Plan flight routes and missions based on objectives, airspace regulations, weather conditions, and other relevant factors. This involves identifying takeoff and landing locations, determining optimal altitude and speed, and considering any potential hazards or obstacles. Operational Execution: Operate the UAV to perform specific tasks, such as aerial photography, videography, mapping, surveillance, or inspections. You'll monitor flight telemetry data, maintain situational awareness, and make real-time adjustments as needed to ensure safe and effective operation. You will need to manage client/ stakeholders’ expectations (on site) and communicate with them nicely and effectively. Safety Compliance: You'll adhere to safety protocols and regulations governing UAV operations, including airspace restrictions, flight altitude limits, and procedures for avoiding collisions with manned aircraft and other obstacles. Safety is paramount in all aspects of your work. Equipment Maintenance: After each flight, you'll perform post-flight checks and maintenance tasks to ensure the UAV is ready for the next mission. This includes cleaning, calibrating, and troubleshooting equipment as necessary, as well as reporting any issues for repair or replacement. Documentation and Reporting: You'll maintain accurate records of flights, including mission logs, flight data, and any incidents or anomalies encountered during operation. You may also be responsible for preparing reports or documentation related to mission outcomes, data collected, and operational performance. Competencies Stakeholder and client management UAV operations Aerial surveillance Façade inspections Landscape surveying 3D modelling Advantageous Skills and Experience Certified drone piloting licence - UAPL cert with no limitations category is preferable. 0 to 2+ years of hands-on experienced operating building, testing or maintaining drones and unmanned aircraft systems. Familiarity with drone platforms such as DJI, Parrot, senseFly or customised drone systems. Familiarity with flight-planning or mapping software such as DroneDeploy, Pix4D, Litchi or QGroundControl. Experience working with cameras, sensors, payloads, ground control stations or aerial data-collection equipment. Basic knowledge of electrical wiring, component integration, soldering or electronics troubleshooting. Applicants must have the legal right to work in Singapore. No work pass sponsorship is available for this position. Part-time roles are available.
