As an Associate Director, Electrical Engineering, you will lead the design and delivery of complex data centre electrical systems across high-profile regional projects. This is a strategic leadership role where you will drive technical excellence, influence client outcomes, and shape the future of data centre engineering across Southeast Asia. ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES Technical Leadership & Strategy Lead the design of mission-critical electrical systems, including: HV and LV distribution systems UPS and critical backup systems Generators and emergency power infrastructure Oversee system architecture across end-to-end electrical design (“two-end systems”) Define and uphold engineering standards, frameworks, and best practices Provide technical leadership on resilience strategies (N+1, 2N, 2N+1) Drive master planning and utility interface design , including HV integration Act as the technical authority across multiple large-scale projects Project & Client Leadership Lead client engagements and provide strategic advisory on electrical design and optimisation Manage multiple project teams across the full project lifecycle (concept to commissioning) Drive: Value engineering, Risk mitigation strategies, Key technical decision-making Build trusted relationships with clients including hyperscalers, telco operators, and developers Regional Influence & Business Growth Support business development and contribute to winning new work across Singapore and the region Represent B&W as a thought leader in data centre electrical engineering Leverage regional and global project experience to strengthen client offerings Team Leadership & Capability Building Lead, mentor, and develop senior engineers and technical specialists Build a scalable, high-performing electrical engineering capability Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and technical excellence Innovation & Digital Engineering Champion digital engineering tools such as BIM and advanced analytics Drive adoption of emerging technologies, including: Liquid-cooled, air-cooled, and hybrid data centre systems Renewable energy integration Energy storage and smart grid solutions EDUCATION AND TRAINING REQUIREMENT Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering Professional Engineer (PE) – Singapore registration (preferred or required depending on scope/sign-off responsibilities) More than 10 years' experience in electrical engineering with consultancies, design firms, data centre operators and/or telco infrastructure projects, Registered with the Professional Engineers Board (PEB), Singapore (highly regarded) Familiarity with Singapore codes and standards (e.g., SS standards, EMA requirements) Strong knowledge of international standards (IEC, IEEE, TIA-942) Membership with relevant bodies (e.g., IES – Institution of Engineers Singapore) preferred GETTING RESULTS AND WORKING TOGETHER The post holder will be expected to operate in line with our workplace values: Accountability - Everyone is accountable.
